2021-2022 Class Information

1500 Hour COSMETOLOGY CLASS

This program is designed to cover all aspects of the Beauty World.  You can perform all hair related services, as well as the Skin Care and the Nail Tech industry.

You can complete this program in less than 9 months if you attend as a Full-Time student and you have Perfect Attendance.

With this licenses you can work in many fields, including:

*Haircutting Specialist

*Wig Designer

*Salon Manager

600 Hour ESTHETICS CLASS

This program is considered a Specialty Program, and is much shorter in length than the Cosmetology class.  You will be licensed to perform skin care services only.  You can't perform any hair or nail services.

You can complete this program in as little as 15 weeks if you attend Full-Time and have Perfect Attendance.

With this licenses you can  work in many areas, including:

*Esthetician

*Skin Treatment Specialist

*Preventative Skin Care

*Waxing Specialist

*Eyelash Specialist

*Make-Up Artist

*Theatrical Make-Up Artist

*Spa Manager

*Spa Owner

600 Hour NAIL TECHNICIAN PROGRAM

This program is also considered another specialty program that we offer. Again it is shorter in length than the Cosmetology program.  You will not be licensed to do any hair or skin care services.

You can complete this program in 15 weeks if you attend Full-Time and have Perfect Attendance.

With this license you will be able to work performing manicures, pedicures, artificial nails, and nail art.  

With this license you can work as:

SCHOOL HOURS

Tuesday thru Saturday 8:30 am Till 5:00 pm for FULL-TIME Students

Part-Time Schedules can be arranged before enrolling

SATURDAY ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY

**Classes start 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each Month, provided we have openings.

**Registration Deadline is 1 Week before Class Begins.


DRESS CODE FOR ALL STUDENTS

Solid Black or Dark Purple Colored Scrubs,  White or Black Leather Closed Toe Shoes

Saturdays are JEANS and T-SHIRT DAY!

Financial Assistance

MONTHLY PAYMENTS

We can arrange your payments to be made monthly throughout your enrollment time.  As you graduate the program you will have your account paid in full and leave the school Debt Free.

Student Loan

There is a loan program available to students that can't pay monthly while attending class. You can apply on line and is for Arkansas Residents only. Visit Arkansas Rural Endowment Foundation and get more information about their program.  www.aref.org

Veterans Education Benefits

We participate in several chapters of educational benefits for the Veteran Student  The Student can be the Veteran, they can be the dependent of a disabled parent, or the Spouse that has transferred their benefits to the student.  We will need a Certificate of Eligibility upon applying for class.

AAHD SCHOLARSHIP for Graduating Senior Students

As a student is approaching their graduation from High School, they can apply for our School Scholarship.  The awards can be used for tuition only.  The awards normally vary form $250 to $2000, depending on the amount of recipients apply.  Deadline for the Spring 2022 award will be January 31, 2022.  Call the our school and we will mail you an application or check with your High School Counselor.

FAQS

1.  Can you tell me if I will be guaranteed a Student Loan?

A.  No.  AREF does all of the loan processing and I never see the loan applications.  The Loan is based on several things, such as credit score, a credit-worthy co-signer, amount of student loan debt you may have already accrued.

2.  Can you tell me what my monthly payment will be if I attend part-time?

A. We will have to establish an attendance schedule for you and calculate the months you will be attending class.

3.  Can I get VA benefits if my Grandfather was a Veteran?

A.  No.  You must be the dependent of the Veteran, and the Veteran must be 100% Disabled if you are filing as a Dependent.  

4.  Can I get VA benefits if I am in the National Guard?

A. Only if you participated in the Educational Program.  

5.  Can I do the Scholarship Application On-Line?

A.  No.  You must complete a paper application and return to us in order to be considered for the Award.

6.  Can I complete my Enrollment On-Line?

A.  No.  I have to see you in person in order to get some signatures on your contract and the State Registration.

7.  I don't want to attend Saturday because I go to the lake on the weekend?

A.  Saturday Class Attendance is MANDATORY.  Saturday is a big day in the Beauty Industry.  If you choose to work in a Chain Salon after graduation you will be required to work Saturday and sometimes Sunday.  

8.  What is the youngest age I can enroll in school?

A.  Arkansas Department of Health states:  You must be 16 years of age to be licensed. You do have to have the 10th grade completed or take an equivalency test that will determine your grade level.  We do have access to the test on-line and there is a fee you would be charged to take the test.
